What does your journey look like?

1. Connection

First I must get your brain and your body to have clear and direct communication, thus improving neurological control. Think of this as “dusting” off your nervous system to each joint so that signals are effective and minimising compensations. 

2. Enhance

Next, we enhance the ability of the joints and tissues. This includes increasing range of motion, improving tissue architecture, and reducing pain/limitations.

3. Strengthen

Subsequently we can improve the strength, reaction time, and specific functioning of the joint, as well as connect it for multi-joint movements. This allows the input signals to be VERY specific for your activity needs. 

Beyond Movement aims to bridge the gap between understanding one's body and implementing targeted strategies for lasting mobility and strength improvements.

On my approach

My approach is centered around fostering a deep understanding of your body's mechanics and dynamics. I prioritize teaching you how your body moves rather than fixating on external results. Regardless of your physical intention, our programming is adaptable and universally relevant for all humans who move their bodies.

The program encompasses the skeletal system, connective tissue, nervous system, and muscular system to ease pain, repair, and recalibrate the body for more efficient and strong movement.

Beyond Movement uses FRS (Functional Range Systems) which is based in scientific knowledge, combined with tried and tested training methods to increase ones active useable ranges of motion by simultaneously improving articular mobility, strength/resilience, and neurological control.

I offer more than just physical training; we provide an education in understanding your body and how it moves. With over a decade of experience in movement and physical training, I've had the privilege of helping thousands of individuals unlock their body's potential. 

Instead of simply dictating exercises, I focus on teaching you about your body, empowering you with the knowledge to improve your movement independently.

My specialties lie in mobility, internal strength, pre & postnatal care, and working with chronic disease populations. With a Master's in Clinical Exercise Physiology and a specialization in gerontology, I've worked with individuals ranging from 6 to 102 years old, encompassing a diverse range of body types and abilities.

Assessments

A measurement-based assessment system that provides objective measures of your movement capacity and useable range of motion for each joint in your body. These assessments then guide the construction of a comprehensive program to improve joint capacity, range of motion, and function where needed.
